WOMAN-OWNED HOUSE OF BATTERIES EARNS LOCKHEED MARTIN AWARD
Company is the only battery assembler to receive "Outstanding Provider" Award

ORLANDO, FL – House of Batteries (HOB) of Fountain Valley, CA, the largest certified woman-owned battery company in the U.S., was the only custom battery assembler to be recognized by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) as an Outstanding Small Business Provider (OSBP) for 2006 during Lockheed’s OSBP awards ceremony March 26, 2007, in Orlando, FL.

Each year, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control and Lockheed Martin Simulation Training & Support select small businesses that have consistently provided outstanding support and products. Only a select few from thousands of Lockheed Martin suppliers nationwide are recognized for superior quality in goods and service.

At a March 26, 2007 awards banquet in Orlando, executives from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control and Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training and Support presented awards to 15 companies, with House of Batteries the only battery supplier to receive the OSBP.

“Small business partners such as House of Batteries bring a unique skill set to our products and services,” said Dale Bennett, president of Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support. “We have developed a long and valuable relationship with them and take pride in recognizing the significant role they play in our success.”

HOB is the largest woman-owned battery distributor and assembler in the U.S and is an authorized assembler for 30 battery manufacturers. HOB produces 250,000 custom battery assemblies monthly and has operations in California, Mexico, and China. HOB stocks over two million batteries and employs a large team of electrical engineers and technical salespeople, with sales representatives nationwide.

House of Batteries continues expansion with Panasonic distributorship

Firm's growth produces first new Panasonic MOD Center appointment in California in 15 years

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA - House of Batteries (HOB) announced today that they have entered into a distribution agreement with Panasonic Batteries of North America. Company officials noted that one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world was now aligned with the fastest growing battery assembler and distributor in the U.S.

"This is going to be a powerful partnership in the battery industry, both in California and nationally," said HOB President Don West. "We have a strong national sales network in all 50 states and a highly skilled engineering and manufacturing team that we plan to put to work selling Panasonic Battery products. Panasonic relies exclusively on their MOD centers for custom assembly, and that creates a real growth opportunity for both Panasonic and House of Batteries," he continued.

Panasonic officials were equally optimistic. "The addition of House of Batteries as a MOD center gives us significant new distribution capacity, a high quality assembly operation and a savvy sales and marketing team to promote our products. We have positive expections for this relationship," said Carlos DaSilva, Northeast Account Manager for Panasonic.

Panasonic is a global manufacturer of alkaline, lithium primary, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, sealed valve regulated lead acid and lithium ion batteries for industrial and OEM markets. They have one of the strongest environmental compliance programs in the industry and are an industry leader in research and development.

The Panasonic Battery relationship continues House of Batteries' expansion aimed at giving the company dominance in the battery market. The firm, which is also the largest woman-owned battery assembler in the U.S., has hired an additional Electrical Engineer dedicated to design and testing of Panasonic custom assemblies. Earlier this year, the company expanded to a new 36,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and distribution facility in Fountain Valley, CA, hired a new Quality Assurance Manager, and announced ISO9001:2000 quality certification. The quality certification completed a four year process and was required to accommodate continued rapid growth.

Woman-owned House of Batteries gains ISO9001:2000, quadruples capacity

Huntington Beach, CA - House of Batteries (HOB), a certified woman-owned custom battery assembler and distributor, announced today the purchase of a new 36,000 square foot facility in Fountain Valley, CA that quadruples the company's manufacturing capacity. CEO Maggie West also announced that HOB has received 1SO9001:2000 quality certification and has hired Mr. Craig Lorey, a veteran quality assurance (QA) manager with 30 years experience, to head their QA operations.

"Our goal is to become the preferred battery supplier to major OEMs that are using cutting edge battery technology," West said. She placed special emphasis on HOB's quality programs. "Quality is central to our growth plans," she stated. "We spent four years on ISO9001:2000 certification. With the addition of Craig Lorey and the manufacturing capacity of our new facility, our quality and manufacturing processes meet or exceed the specifications of the most demanding OEMs. We think that positions us for substantial growth over the next five years."

HOB was founded in 1965. They are the largest woman-owned battery distributor and assembler in the U.S. The firm is an authorized assembler for over 30 battery manufacturers, including Sanyo Energy, Energizer, Enersys (Yuasa/ Hawker), Varta, Saft, Leoch, Eagle Picher, GP, Maxell, Renata, Powersonic, Rayovac, Sony, Tadiran, Ultralife, Vinnic, Toshiba, Duracell, and B&B. HOB also distributes and assembles Panasonic batteries. The company manufactures 250,000 custom battery assemblies per month and has battery assembly operations in Southern California, Mexico and China. Products range from batteries for portable electronics to standby UPS batteries. HOB maintains a nationwide sales rep force that covers all 50 states. The new headquarters facility in Fountain Valley will quadruple current dedicated manufacturing capacity in Southern California.

"We are adding a dedicated EE on staff to specialize in lithium-ion battery pack design," said President Don West. "We plan to give Craig Lorey a mandate to keep our ISO9001:2000 quality program at the forefront of the industry," he added. Mr. West noted that the firm will also add an experienced sales person dedicated solely to the development of HOB's market share in larger storage batteries and vehicle replacement batteries, perhaps expanding to a full service operation for hybrid and electric vehicles.

HOB's move to the new Fountain Valley facility is planned for March 2005.
